Professor Lewis will outline Faculty responsibility and opportunity in teaching, research, and governance.
Cal Poly College of EngineeringÕs Strategic Plan for Sustainability EducationÑDean Peter Lee, College of Engineering
Dean Lee will unveil plans for a new University Center for Sustainable Engineering, an International Conference on campus and integration of Sustainability issues in the Engineering Curriculum.
The Voice of the Future: Students Reforming Education for SustainabilityÑCal Poly Associated Students President, Alison Anderson and Vice-President Olga Berdial
Student Leaders Anderson and Berdial will discuss student organizations at the State, CSU, and local levels now active in the movement to reorient their own education.
The Convergence of Ecology, Economics and EquityÑDean R. Thomas Jones, College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Director ÒCalifornia FuturesÓ
Dean Jones will relate the call for sustainability on college campuses to other issues of concern to Californians, and suggest what leadership role Cal Poly can play in addressing these issues.
Engaging the Polytechnic UniversityÑDavid Orr, Author, Lecturer, Head of Environmental Studies Center, Oberlin College
Dr. Orr spearheaded the effort to design, finance and build a Green Building described by the New York Times as "the most remarkable" of a new generation of college buildings. He has written four books about Sustainability and Education.
